Mask requirement fails at town council

Council members ask for more precise data from county

Florence is staying with the status quo when it comes to masks and social distancing in fighting COVID-19.

Vice Mayor John Anderson proposed making masks a requirement for everyone in public spaces within the town limits. Exceptions would be made for people with illnesses that prevented them from wearing masks, children under age 4 and exercising outdoors, among others.
