Mary J. Wambach

Posted
(Boerger), 69 Sun City West - Mary J Wambach passed peacefully on Sunday Jan 10, 2016 after a sudden and courageous 6 week battle with cholangiocarcinoma/acute pancreatitis. Mary is survived by her loving husband Ronald J, daughter Deborah A. Wambach (Paul Sturm), son Robert T Wambach (Megan Miller), two grandsons Dylan M and Cameron C Wambach, sisters Barbara Schunk and Kay Koch, her brother-in-law Richard R Wambach (Julie), numerous nieces and nephews and loads of friends in AZ, WI, MT and FL. She was preceded on her journey by her parents Clarence and Frances Boerger, sisters Carol Puccinelli and Jean Boerger, and her brother Thomas Boerger. Mary was born in Milwaukee, WI on Dec 8, 1946, graduated from Pius XI High School and attended UW Milwaukee. She married Ron in 1969 and devoted her life to the care and well-being of her family. Mary and Ron spent most of their married life in Franklin, WI and were snowbirds for 11 years to SCW where they both loved the activities and the weather. They moved to SCW in Oct 2015 upon Ron's retirement with the expectation of a long, enjoyable and active life together. She put up a valiant fight but eventually ran out of treatment options and chose hospice where she passed quietly with family at her side. Her smile, laughter and acerbic wit will be remembered always by those who knew her. To remember Mary, make a gift to your favorite charity, do something special for a friend or stranger, volunteer your time, or just look to the sky and tell Mary your best memory of her.
