SUN CITY WEST - Mary Catherine Hohl, age 69, a resident of Sun City West and a former long-time resident of Bainbridge Island, Wash. died Sunday, Sept. 4th, 2016 in Johnstown, Pa. She suffered a severe brain injury after a fall and passed away peacefully nine days later surrounded by members of her family. Mary was born in Kokomo, Ind. on July 30th, 1947. She was adopted and raised by George and Mary Drummey in South Bend, Ind. She was preceded in death by her adoptive parents; and her adoptive brother, George, who passed away in 1993. Mary had two biological siblings, Claire Vida of Lomita, Calif. and Steve Sitko of Salinas, Calif.; and four step-siblings, Jim Sitko of Houston, Texas; Tom Sitko of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; Collette Libertin, of Akron, Ohio; and Margaret Sitko of Pittsburgh, Pa. During her adult life, after years of searching, Mary located her biological and step-siblings and reunited with each and every one of them before her passing. She was attending a reunion with them in Somerset, Pa. when her tragic accident occurred. She is survived by her husband, Stephen Hohl, formerly of Bainbridge Island and now a resident of Sun City West; son, Chris Hardy of Queen Creek; daughters, Dana Hardy Bingham of Pittsburgh, Pa., Mary Culver St. Louis, Mo. and Katy Nordstrom of Bainbridge Island, Wash.. She had 10 amazing grandchildren she adored and many friends all over the world who loved her dearly. The service for Mary will be held at 10 a.m. on Oct. 22nd at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Sun City West. The service will include a religious ceremony followed by remembrance celebration at the Kuntz recreation center. Please wear colorful clothing to remember the beautiful, vibrant Mary as we all knew her. The family is suggesting in lieu of flowers a donation to the Saint Mary's Food Bank in Mary's name.
