Marvin A. Kunde

Marvin A. Kunde, 90, passed away February 8, 2019 in Sun City West, AZ. He was born in Brainerd, Minnesota on March 29, 1928 of Louis A. Kunde and Esther Wahlstrom Kunde.Marvin attended public schools in Brainerd, graduating from Washington High School in 1946. Shortly thereafter he enlisted in the US Army and after basic training, served out his enlistment period in South Korea with an honorable discharge. Seeking a career as a mining engineer, Marvin enrolled in The Colorado School of Mines in Golden Colorado in 1948 where he became a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He was awarded the professional degree of Engineer of Mines upon graduation in 1952. He then took employment in Denver, Colorado with The Internal Revenue Service as a Valuation Engineer. To develop a newfound interest in law and legal matters, Marvin was able to enroll in evening law school at The University of Denver College of Law while maintaining his existing employment. During this period, he met and fell in love with Emily Robinson, a beautiful and talented young woman. Marvin and Emily were married in Denver on December 12, 1959.After law school graduation and passing the Colorado Bar Exam, the young couple moved the next year to Pittsburgh, PA, the location of Marvin's new employer. He served that employer with dedication for 16 years at Pittsburgh and another 14 years at the Dallas, TX location, being admitted to practice law in each location. It was a period that presented professionally challenging law matters for resolution. The Kunde's decided at an early date that their retirement home would be in Arizona at Sun City West. In December 1993, they moved into their newly built home there and soon became engaged in new activities with new friends. It was like in many respects, the beginning of a new life together.Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, an older brother, a younger sister and his wife Emily.Interment will be local at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, thereby joining Marvin and Emily in a forever embrace. At Marvin's instruction, no services are planned, however, memorials may be directed to Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church, 13658 Meeker Blvd., Sun City West, AZ 85375.
