Martinez : When is paving of Peralta Road to begin?
Would you be kind enough to clear up some confusion related to the story about the Peralta Regional Park (“Work to begin on Peralta Regional Park” on the cover of the February 2022 issue of the Apache Junction/Gold Canyon Independent)? I live in Peralta Trails and hike often in the Peralta Trail area.
When is the paving of the Peralta Road going to begin? I’ve already noticed Overley’s employees laying water line beside the road and I am excited to have the road paved since I use it so often. I am also hoping the road will include a bicycle lane so that locals can continue to find new areas to be active outdoors and enjoy our amazing winter weather.
As with everything there could be things we don’t like but progress is generally a good thing.

My friends and I read your story and couldn’t decide when the actual paving will begin hence the confusion.
Thank you for the work you do informing us of new & exciting projects in our community.
Editor’s note: Luther D. Martinez is a resident of Gold Canyon. The roadwork is to be started in 2025.
