MESA - Local musician and novelist Marty Nevers (Martin Michael Neveroski) died June 25th, 2012 in Mesa, Arizona. Marty was born in Michigan City, Indiana on November 15th, 1923 and moved to Minneapolis in the 50s. Marty became part of the very popular comedy team called Frazer and Nevers. They performed throughout the 50s and 60s at Mr. Nibs and Tempo Bar. In 1969 Marty joined with Carla Elliott and continued to entertain in the Twin Cities during the summer and Mesa Arizona in the winter, right up to his passing. During a long musical career, he wrote and recorded over 40 songs available on 3 CDs. He loved to make people laugh and his music was inspiring. He also published a novel titled "Mystery of Ma's Ugly Pickle" (ISBN_9780983750611). He is survived by his wife, Carla Elliott; daughters, Dawn and Dianne; and son, Daniel. Carla will carry on his music.
