Martha Eloise House Dennis, 88Martha Eloise House Dennis, 88, a 33-year resident of Chandler, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 30, at Park Regency Health Care Center in Chandler.She was born Oct. 24, 1918 to Carson and Kate (Wyant) House near Pendleton, Ind., attended school in Ingalls and Pendleton and graduated from Pendleton High School in 1936 as valedictorian. She attended Ball State Teachers" College in Muncie, Ind., on scholarship, receiving her elementary teaching credential.After teaching for a year she returned to earn her degree with the Class of 1940. There she met her future husband whom she married on Christmas day 1941.She was a dedicated teacher, a loving mother to her two children, and a devoted wife to her husband Fred in his numerous activities. Martha and Fred were avid bowlers over the years. She was a member for over 30 years of the Chandler United Methodist Church including the "Response Group," and the Chandler AF Chapter of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Frederick Woollard Dennis, Sr. and brothers P. Wyant House and Wilbur R. House. Survivors include son Frederick W. Dennis II (Grace) of Amarillo, Texas; daughter MaryLou (Jim) of San Diego; grandchildren Eric, Laurie, Melissa, Angelique, Cindy, Chuck, Zoe and Qiana; six great-grandchildren, niece Barbara Knox and her family Norman, Lyle, and Alex all of Chandler and "adopted" family Don and Jane Fraser and children.A memorial service was held Feb. 3 in the Chandler United Methodist Church with Pastor Mike Downing officiating.
