Marion Elaine Doherty

On Friday, January 11, 2019 - Marion Elaine Doherty departed this world-albeit reluctantly-because she loved her life. Surrounded by her husband and daughters, she made a gentle and peaceful exit. Also known as "Toots," Mom, Aunt Marion, Grandma, Great Grandma and dear, it can be truthfully told that Marion never met a stranger in her lifetime as she was known to strike up a conversation with just about anyone, anywhere to the amazement of her daughters and husband. She will be remembered well by friends, neighbors and all the excellent health care professionals she has forged relationships with over the years.Marion leaves behind the love of her life, husband Daniel F. Doherty, Jr. She also leaves behind adored daughters Terri, Kathy, Margaret and Maureen; her sons in law Mark, Ben and Ryan. Additionally she leaves her pride and joy--grandchildren, Dan and Erin Taylor, Maxwell Juvet, Sophia, Moses and Osa Goldfarb, Clara and Oliver Spain and great grandson Tucker Juvet. She will be missed by sisters, Karen and Judy and brother in law Richard, as well as by their families.Marion will be remembered for her warm and generous spirit, her fierce independence, her love of casinos and scratch tickets, her delicious potato salad, her eagerness for a good road trip, her impressive carpentry skills and her ability to laugh at herself and love those around her.Our lives will not be the same without her but they have definitely been made sweeter because of her. We love you mom.
