My wife and I attended Oct. 1 the evening Concert in the Park performance of “The Hispanic Heritage Fiesta.”
The music and the dancing was commendable, but we were embarrassed and ashamed of the condition of the stage and dance provisions for the talent.
There was no performance lighting provided for the musicians or the dancers! The musicians played their instruments by overhead work lights, and the dancers (40 or more) displayed their beautiful costumes before the stage in the dark!

This was an evening engagement! Many of the several thousand paid. Attendees left early, one shouting, “Get a spotlight,” to which the performing company manager and narrator replied, “I don’t work here.”
If we can afford to completely redo parking lots, then we can afford to get the right equipment for Beardsley Park evening concerts!
