Maricopa, Pinal counties under excessive heat warning for Thursday

The National Weather Service this morning issued an excessive heat warning for Thursday, June 20, when temperatures could reach 113 degrees in Maricopa and Pinal counties.

Weather Service officials said temperatures that high are dangerous with the potential to cause life-threatening illnesses or even death.

County residents are advised to limit outdoor activity to morning and evening hours, stay hydrated with water and cut down on sun exposure with sunglasses, hats and SPF 30+ sunscreen.
