Maricopa, Pinal counties under excessive heat warning for July 11

Maricopa and Pinal counties face an excessive heat warning from 10 a.m to 8 p.m. Monday, July 11, according to the National Weather Service.

Daytime highs could reach 115 degrees.

The Weather Service urges individuals to take appropriate precautions during the warning period:

  • Stay in air-conditioned buildings.
  • Limit outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day (mid-day).
  • Check on at-risk friends, family and neighbors at least twice a day.
  • Drink water before, during and after working or exercising outside.
