The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning through Thursday for Maricopa and Pinal counties as high temperatures up to 113 degrees are in the forecast.
Weather Service officials said temperatures that high are dangerous with the potential to cause life-threatening illnesses or even death.
County residents are advised to limit outdoor activity to morning and evening hours, stay hydrated with water and cut down on sun exposure with sunglasses, hats and SPF 30+ sunscreen.
