With record-breaking numbers of registered voters returning an unprecedented 2 million requested mail-in ballots between now and Nov. 3, officials say they are ready for another successful election in Maricopa County.
Diana Solorio, a spokeswoman for the Maricopa County Recorder’s Office, told Daily Independent the returns so far already outpace those seen in the 2016 presidential election.
“As of Oct. 14, 20 days before Election Day, 160,000 early ballots are processed and 14,000 voters have voted early in-person in Maricopa County,” Ms. Solorio said. “Compared to the 2016 general, we had 154,000 ballots processed and 3,800 early voters who had voted in person by 20 days before Election Day.”
