Maricopa County has reported 25 heat-associated deaths for the 2023 season, which covers May through October.
The number of deaths linked to the weather is through July 25, according to the Maricopa County Department of Public Health.
Of the 25, 18 are listed as “heat caused” and the other seven were “heat related.”
Officials also said another 249 deaths are under investigation to determine if they were “heat associated.”
