Maricopa County offers AC help for some residents

The Valley’s extreme heat is no joke in the summer.

Luckily, the Maricopa County Department of Human Services has a program for some homeowners who need some emergency home repairs should an air conditioner break during 100-plus degree temperatures.

The program, called the Emergency Home Repair Program, helps eligible homeowners with air conditioner outages and minor electrical and plumbing repairs, said Jamie Macfarlane, assistant director of housing and community development at Maricopa County.
