For the second time this week, the Maricopa County Department of Public Health has confirmed a case of measles, bringing the total number of confirmed cases for 2026 to 14 — and Queen Creek and Gilbert are on the exposure list.
On Wednesday, MCDPH confirmed three new cases. The 14th case was announced on Friday.
“This case is linked to a confirmed local case, which had no travel or known source of exposure. This indicates the source was likely within Maricopa County,” according to a department press release. “This highlights the ongoing risk of local transmission during this outbreak, and the importance of vaccination and early symptom recognition.”
