Maricopa County housing stock grew by 38,000 from 2023 to 2024

Maricopa County posted the largest numeric gain in housing units built in the U.S. from 2023 to 2024, according to a May 15 report from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The report stated the Valley beat out Los Angeles County and Houston’s home Harris County, Texas, which both posted gains in new housing units of 32,000 each, the Census Bureau website stated.

“It’s not a bad number,” said Jim Daniel, president at RL Brown Housing Reports. “Our population growth and (residents migrating from other states) has been pretty consistent.”
