Maricopa County aims to help people fix broken down air conditioners

Project aimed at low-income residents

Heat in Phoenix is on the horizon and some Maricopa County officials are ready to help low-income households stretch their dollars to get through the summer months.

Jayson Matthews, interim director at Maricopa County Human Services. said last year the department helped 345 households with repairs or replacement of heating ventilation and air conditioning units.

In total, officials have helped 1,029 households since the program began in 2021.
