Maricopa County eviction filings continue to rise, nearing what has been an all-time high, according to local officials.
August was the third-busiest month for eviction filings on record with 7,693 new cases filed, said Scott Davis, spokesman for the Maricopa County Justice Courts, which oversees eviction filings.
The “two months where landlords filed more eviction complaints” were both in 2005 — in August and September, Davis said. That year, there were 7,902 filings in August, and in September there were 7,699, Davis said.
