Maricopa County court hosts child support arrest workshop
Posted
The Superior Court of Arizona in Maricopa County is hosting a Child Support Arrest Workshop that will quash arrest warrants for people who owe back child support.
The event is 9 a.m. Friday in the South Court Tower, 175. W. Madison St.in Phoenix.
During the workshop, social service providers and court staff will be on site in the Jury Assembly Room to provide employment resources like resume assistance, job and interview skills and transportation to people who owe back-child support.
Each year, the Court hosts the CSAW workshop, in which both obligors and obliges attend.
Arrest warrants are quashed, the court collects thousands of dollars in child support, and parties stipulate to waiving tens of thousands of dollars in arrears during the event.
Currently, there are about 1,000 active child support warrants in Maricopa County.
Anyone with a child support arrest warrant is invited to attend the workshop, and no one will be arrested for a child support warrant at the event.
