Maricopa County confirms 20 more heat deaths in last week

The 2023 heat season has caused 59 heat-associated deaths, Maricopa County health officials said Wednesday.

The latest report for the heat season, which began in May, showed an increase of 20 heat-associated deaths from last week’s report, according to the Maricopa County Department of Public Health.

In addition, 345 cases are under investigation, officials said.

The 2023 heat season has caused 59 heat-associated deaths, Maricopa County health officials said Wednesday.

The latest report for the heat season, which began in May, showed an increase of 20 heat-associated deaths from last week’s report, according to the Maricopa County Department of Public Health.

In addition, 345 cases are under investigation, officials said.

Of the 59 cases, 40 have been reported as “heat caused” and 19 “heat related.”
