The Maricopa County Community College District has selected Lisa Armour as its executive vice chancellor and provost.

She will replace acting vice chancellor and provost of Academic and Student Affairs, Bettina Celis, who assumed the role in July 2022.

“Dr. Armour's extensive knowledge of academic and student affairs will serve as a valuable addition to our system,” MCCCD Chancellor Dr. Steven R. Gonzales said.

“The selection committee was impressed by her expertise in strategic planning and baccalaureate degree programs. I look forward to her future contributions to our students, faculty, staff and community at large.”

Armour serves as the vice president for Institutional Effectiveness and Strategic Planning at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Fla. She previously served as the interim provost and vice president of Academic Affairs for two years, according to a release.

The multi-campus Santa Fe College “is recognized for transferring more students to the University of Florida than any other institution within the state,” the release stated.

"The Maricopa County Community College District is an inspiring system dedicated to the success of all students,” Armour said.

Armour will assume her new role on Dec. 4.
