Political drama continues as the Republican-led Arizona Senate presses its subpoenas for election documents while the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors considers another comprehensive audit of voting equipment in the wake of the contentious November 2020 presidential election.
Both sides say their main concern is for the voters and protecting the integrity of free and fair elections in the state.
Supervisors Board Chairman Jack Sellers, who represents county District 1, said in a statement issued Tuesday the panel would take up a measure, which if approved, would facilitate an review of election hardware and software to be conducted by a pair of independent and federally certified auditors.
