The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors approved last week an agreement aimed at stopping human trafficking and crime in central Phoenix near Grand Canyon University.
The measure was on the board's consent agenda along with several other items approved April 22 that allows approval of all items with a single vote.
The approved agreement, between the Maricopa County Attorney's Office and GCU would allow the use of fingerprint scanners and cameras for crime suppression and community-safety operations upon request as specified below when such equipment is available.
