Maricopa County attorney warns those involved in Lord killing to ‘take no comfort'

Senior prosecutors who handle homicides are now going through a mountain of evidence in the case of a San Tan Valley teen who was fatally beaten at a house party in Queen Creek, Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell said during a news conference Wednesday.

Preston Lord, 16, was assaulted during a house party on Oct. 28 and died of his injuries on Oct. 30. Lord attended Combs High School in Pinal County.

During her regular press briefing, Mitchell answered several questions, including why none of the seven juveniles and adults have been arrested following the Queen Creek Police Department’s submittal of charges against them.
