The Maricopa County Community College District recently received nearly $500,000 to fund the development and implementation of a student technology suite.
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s $499,987 will help fund ASSIST, which stands for Academic and Student Success Integrated Support Technology. ASSIST is designed to empower advisors and other student service professionals with access to student data, according to a news release. The inexpensive and speedy cloud-based data layer takes in student data from many systems to present in a single experience so advisors can better support students during their time in school.
“We are so excited to share the news about ASSIST, a platform that will provide advisors and student support staff with insights and key information to help students during service experiences,” said Joseph Licata, the technology lead for ASSIST and Associate Vice Chancellor for Information Technology. “The tools in this suite span several product categories from traditional CRM capabilities to early alert and case management. Not only do we plan to help many of our students across our ten colleges with this technology, but we hope to find ways to share our work with other institutions facing similar challenges.”
