Maria Barbara Heibich

Posted

Maria Barbara Heibich (neé Vytlacil) went Home to Jesus in heaven on December 24, 2024. She leaves behind her spouse, Guenter Heibich, three children: Sandy Mamie (Kevin and his son Kyle), Susan Ballew, and Linda Heibich; three grandchildren: Meagan Ballew, Nathan Richards (Kaitlyn) and Ashley Richards; three great grandchildren: Adaline, Jacob and Austin Richards and two nephews: Frank Heibich (Silvia) and Franz Vytlacil.
Maria was born February 4, 1938 in Iglau, Czechoslovakia. She endured many difficulties during WWll as a child. She spent her youth and young adulthood in Germany, was married, and then immigrated to America. Then, for thirty years, due to her military husband’s career, she moved from Army base to Army base in Germany, Oregon, Washington and Texas, always making a house a home for her family. In addition, Maria worked full-time as a secretary in many different areas and worked as a church secretary.
Maria was an inspiration to all of us. Her strength in God carried her through many hardships. Her sense of humor was unique and brightened the lives of all who knew her. She was a free spirit and spread joy wherever she went. She loved singing in her church choir, playing tennis, putting together jigsaw puzzles and adult Botanic Garden Lego kits, watching sports on television, completing the daily crossword puzzle in the newspaper, and volunteering countless hours in the public schools in which her daughters taught.
Maria was a bright light in this world. There are no words to adequately express how much she will be missed.
Her memorial service will take place Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Happy Trails Resort (17200 W. Bell Road) in Surprise, Arizona, in NCll.
