SUN CITY WEST - Our beloved mother, Florence Marguerite Walker Harman, called Peggy from an early age, died on May 10, 2012 in Napa, Calif. Peggy was born to Robin Adair Walker and Carolyn Ellis Richards Walker on December 20, 1915, in Kansas City, Mo. She taught 7th grade in Kansas City and 5th grade and elementary art instruction in Kansas. After retirement Peggy and her husband, Bob, moved to Sun City West, Ariz., and in 2007, they moved to Napa, Calif. Throughout her life she pursued her hobbies of painting, interior decorating, and miniature room constructions, winning numerous awards and recognition for her artistic talent. She was a member of the Plaza Art Guild, a juried member of the Arizona Artists Guild, president and founding board member of the Sun City West Art Museum, and participated in many art and craft clubs. Her husband of 76 years, Robert V Harman, predeceased her in February 2012. She is survived by their three children, Robert Lewis Harman of San Diego, William R. Harman of Far Rockaway, N.Y., and Carolyn Harman Peck (James) of Napa; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Our family wishes to thank the staff of Villa Del Rey and Napa Valley Care Center in Napa for their compassionate care of our mother.
