Margaret Ann Casey

SUN CITY - Margaret Ann Casey, 83, passed into eternal life on June 18, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born August 13, 1932, Margaret was the daughter of the late Gerald and Jennie Carmody. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Joe (Juanita) and Tom. She is survived by her brother, Maurice (Mary Ann); and two sisters, Sally Moser (Dave) and Gerry Ferrar (the late Jim). Margaret leaves behind her beloved husband, Michael; her five children, Mike (Lori), Cathy (Jim) Condon, Pat, Bob, and Rich (Dana); and her grandchildren, Kelly, Kevin, Jenny, Elizabeth, Anna, Maeve, and Quinn. She looked forward to the birth of her first great-grandchild in September. Margaret grew up on a farm in southwest Michigan and became a Registered Nurse. She met her husband in Chicago and they raised their family on Carolyn Lane in Alsip. Family was precious to Margaret and in her role as a mother and grandmother she both handed down and created many family traditions and stories. Music was always a source of joy for Margaret from her earlier years singing with her sisters to her many years in the church choir. Margaret and Mike retired to Arizona where they enjoyed the last 20 years, with Margaret sharing her musical, comedic and acting talents in many Sun City plays and musicals. Margaret's life was a song that brought joy to many. While we commend her now to the choirs of angels, we pray that we may continue to sing as she taught us, celebrating each day of our life until the day we join with her in heaven. Visitation was 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Curley Funeral Home, 6116 W. 111th Street, Chicago Ridge.
