Manholes project continues in Gilbert

Work can cause traffic lane closures

The new budget year has brought about an infusion of  capital to allow the town of Gilbert’s manhole rehabilitation project to continue moving forward. 

The town has 27 deteriorating manholes with rehabilitation under way, 31 pending rehab, and has completed 113 of the 171 that were prioritized for the capital improvement project, according to Jeanne Jensen, a capital improvement project supervisor for the town. 

Traffic often is impacted with lane closures while a manhole is being rehabilitated.
