A 30-year-old man has a trial date for his alleged vehicular crimes in Chandler that police state led to the death of a 21-year-old man.
Gustavo Gavia Elias is due to face trial Nov. 16 in Maricopa County Superior court on charges stemming from a March 18 incident. He was indicted in April for allegedly intentionally striking and killing a motorcyclist with his sport utility vehicle.
Police state Gavia Elias was intoxicated and had children in his vehicle, which collided with the motorcycle of Dezjon Xavier Hamilton, who was left brain dead from the collision.
