Keith Auzenne, 38, was sentenced after pleading guilty to one count each of kidnapping, aggravated assault and unlawful means of transportation. He will have four years of probation once released, according to a press release from the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

Auzenne was a passenger of an SUV driven by his girlfriend in September 2024 when the couple got into an argument. When his girlfriend stopped the vehicle and tried to get out, Auzenne forced her into the back seat, according to the release.

Taking the wheel, Auzenne then drove up to 104 mph before eventually hitting a curb and launching the vehicle more than 100 feet through the air, hitting a block wall before eventually hitting an apartment porch near Baseline and Miller roads, the release stated.

Inside the apartment were two adults and four children, one of whom received minor injuries from stepping on glass shards, the release stated.

Auzenne escaped after the crash and left his girlfriend injured in the vehicle. He was arrested a short time later and told investigators he had smoked meth earlier in the day.
