A 25-year-old man was sentenced to 42 years in prison for killing another man near “The Zone” in downtown Phoenix, according to a Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.
Dave Dinkins was sentenced after law enforcement officials said he beat Geoffrey Rugwiro to death and set his body on fire inside a dumpster at 11th Avenue and Madison Street in Phoenix, a press release stated.
The incident took place near “The Zone,” an area near Jefferson Street and 10th Avenue in Phoenix where homeless encampments were set up next to community services.
