Man killed in officer-involved shooting in north Phoenix

An unidentified man was killed Thursday evening in an officer-involved shooting in north Phoenix, Phoenix Police said Friday in a release.

Phoenix Police officers from the Tactical Support Bureau responded about 6 p.m. in the area of North 23rd Avenue and West Pinnacle Peak Road following a man in a vehicle with a felony warrant in connection with an investigation involving sexual conduct with a minor, according to the release.

A K-9 officer used a vehicle interdiction device known as a grappler to stop the suspect vehicle on Pinnacle Peak, just west of 23rd Avenue. Another officer contained the suspect by using his vehicle to pin the driver’s door.
