Man killed during domestic dispute in central Phoenix

A 34-year-old man was killed Tuesday afternoon in a shooting in central Phoenix, a release from Phoenix Police said Wednesday.

Police responded about 2:30 p.m. Sept. 1 to a reported shooting at a residence in the area of 20th Avenue and Camelback Road. Officers arrived and located the man, later identified as Daniel Palmer, who had sustained a single gunshot wound. Phoenix Fire transported him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the release.

A woman shooter remained on-scene and was detained by police. Homicide detectives responded and assumed responsibility for the investigation. Preliminary indications were that during a domestic dispute between Palmer and the woman, a firearm was discharged and struck Palmer.
