A man was killed early Friday morning after he was hit by a tow truck in central Phoenix.
Officers responded about 3:45 a.m. July 10 to the area near Seventh Street and Thomas Road and found a man with life-threatening injuries. The man was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to a press release.
The driver of the truck remained on scene. Early evidence shows the pedestrian stepped into the curb lane and was moving backward when the truck struck him. The driver was evaluated and showed no signs of impairment. It is unknown whether the pedestrian was impaired, according to the release.
