A 23-year-old man has been indicted for first-degree murder, stemming from charges he killed and burned the body of a person in a homeless encampment west of downtown Phoenix, authorities announced Friday.
Dave Jacuan Kahlil Dinkins is facing four counts, including first-degree murder, kidnapping, arson of a structure and abandonment or concealment of dead body, according to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.
The charges stem from an incident on March 21 when Dinkins is accused of having “restrained, killed and then burned the body of a person living in the area known as ‘The Zone’, a homeless encampment west of downtown Phoenix,” MCAO officials said.
