Man indicted in connection with East Valley Home Depot thefts

A 53-year-old man has been indicted as the suspect in the theft of more than $9,000 worth of merchandise from Home Depot stores across Mesa.

Chad Planck was indicted on 44 counts of organized retail theft, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office announced Thursday.

Authorities allege that, between January and April 2026, Planck entered multiple Home Depot stores across Mesa, filled shopping carts with power tools and used a “skip scanning” scheme to steal the products.
