Phoenix Police Department detectives are investigating the death of a man whose body was found Thursday morning in Papago Park.

Officers responded about 7:30 a.m. to the park regarding an injured person. Phoenix Fire Department personnel had already pronounced the man dead.

“Due to elements found at the scene, homicide detectives responded to assume the investigation,” a police department release stated.

The Office of the Medical Examiner responded, and the investigation is pending the results of an autopsy.
