Man fatally shot in north Phoenix, police asking public for information

Phoenix detectives are looking for any information leading to the identity of a suspect who fatally shot a man in north Phoenix early Thursday morning.

At about 4:30 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to a shooting call near 17600 N. Ninth Street. According to a news release, when officers arrived, they found an adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Phoenix Fire department responded and took the man to the hospital where he died from his injuries. Detectives responded to the scene and took over the investigation. 

The area is near several apartment complexes and is just northwest of Turtle Rock Basin Park.
