A man was in critical condition after he crashed into a light pole in Sun City West Thursday afternoon, according to the Marciopa County Sheriff's Office.
The incident occurred at about 5 p.m. near the intersection of 128th Avenue and Marble Drive.
According to Sgt. Calbert Gillett, an 83-year-old man apparently got his foot stuck between the brake and accelerator pedals and crashed into a light pole at the intersection. He was ejected through the windshield and sustained life-threatening injuries.
The golf cart had no seat belt installed, Sgt. Gillett said.
Medical officials transported the man to HonorHealth John C. Lincoln Medical Center in Phoenix.
On Friday, March 3, Sgt. Gillett said the man should be okay.
