Phoenix police detectives are investigating a collision that left a man dead early Thursday morning.

The crash occurred about 2:30 a.m. June 19 near 67^th Avenue and Osborn Road where responding officers found a man from one of the vehicles who had died at the scene of the collision.

There also were two adults in the other vehicle involved who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and both were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Detectives took over the investigation, and preliminary information indicates that the vehicle of the man who died was traveling south on 67^th Avenue when, for unknown reasons, it entered the northbound lanes of traffic and collided with the other vehicle involved, according to a Phoenix Police Department release.

 Additional details about the collision remain part of the ongoing investigation, police said. The man who died has not been identified.
