A 37-year-old man faces a first-degree murder charge in connection with a shooting following a road-rage incident in Chandler, police said.

Domingo Luz has been charged with killing Carlos Doiron at about 4:20 p.m. Dec. 5 near Hamilton Street and Chandler Boulevard, according to a release.

Police were called to the area to find Doiron with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he died from the injury.

During their investigation, police found that Doiron had an argument during a road-rage incident and, shortly after, he visited a family member to drop off gifts.

Police said the suspect from the road-rage incident returned to the area, fired several rounds into Doiron's vehicle and fled in a white Chevy Cobalt with a rear hood spoiler.

That car was seen just after 1 p.m. Dec. 7 near Arizona Avenue and Chandler Boulevard, police said.

Authorities stopped the car and detained the suspect.

Luz was booked into jail on one count of first-degree murder, possession of a weapon by a prohibited possessor, discharging a firearm in city limits and possession of a narcotic drug, police said.
