Posted

Detectives are investigating a west Phoenix fatal collision Tuesday night when a pedestrian was hit twice by the same vehicle, police said.

At about 7:15 p.m. Oct. 3, officers found a man with serious injuries near 43rd and Glendale avenues.

He was treated at the scene by Phoenix firefighters but did not survive, authorities said.

Preliminary information indicates the man was crossing 43rd Avenue, mid-block, when he was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound on 43rd Avenue, according to a release.

“This vehicle was then struck by another vehicle traveling northbound, causing the first vehicle to again strike the man,” the release stated.

Police said impairment is not believed to be a factor in connection with the drivers.

An investigation is continuing.
