Police identify victim in June 14 Phoenix shooting

The 20-year-old man who died at a hospital after being shot June 14 near 3rd and Jones avenues has been identified as 29-year-old Alan Flores, police said.

Cristian Leonel Valdez Serna, 26, has been booked into Maricopa County Jail and charged with murder in connection with the shooting that occurred just before 4:30 p.m. June 14, according to an earlier Phoenix Police Department release.

Preliminary information suggests the suspect “pointed the gun, resulting in the fatal gunshot wound,” the release stated.
