Man arrested in connection to Phoenix homicide

A 26-year-old man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a homicide in southeast Phoenix, Phoenix Police said in a release Friday.

Phoenix Police were called to the area of 24th Street and East Van Buren Street on March 26 after an officer obtained credible information that a homicide of a man had occurred in the area, according to a release.

After the homicide occurred, the victim, later identified as 44-year-old Derek Standridge, was placed in the trunk of a vehicle and riven away from the scene.
