A 38-year-old man faces homicide charges after stabbing to death his 73-year-old roommate, Phoenix police said.
On May 2 at 11:45 a.m., officers were called to a neighborhood near 35th Street and Campo Bello Drive. When officers arrived, they found a man, later identified as Jack Olsen, 73, lying on the floor of his home with multiple stab wounds. He died at the scene, police said.
A witness told officers the suspect, Daniel Kohls, was responsible for the stabbing and left the area on foot, according to a Phoenix Police Department release.
Officers searched the area and found Kohls at a nearby park where he was taken into custody.
“Detectives later interviewed Kohls where he provided statements linking him to the stabbing,” the release stated.
He was later booked on murder charges. No other suspects are believed to be outstanding, police said.
