Valley Youth Theatre Executive Director Leigh Ann Dolan said the programs’ shows are not just about what’s put on stage, but the change in youth’s hearts and minds.
“Don’t tell the kids, but we’re not [just] making better actors, we’re actually making better people,” Dolan told a city of Phoenix subcommittee on Wednesday. “Just don’t tell them, though. They all think they’re going to be Emma Stone, Valley Youth Theatre alumna.”
Dolan gave an update on Valley Youth Theatre’s activities to the Economic Development and Arts Subcommittee, including announcing the rest of the performance schedule for 2026-27 season. Auditions, for performers under 20, are still ahead for three shows in the season.
