Major semiconductor packaging and testing campus lands in Peoria

Expected to bring 2,000 jobs to city, representing $2B investment

Peoria just became a big stop on Arizona’s — and the world’s — semiconductor supply chain.

Amkor Technology Inc., a major U.S.-based semiconductor assembly and test service provider, announced plans to locate in the city and build a state-of-the-art advanced semiconductor packaging and testing campus designed to work with the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. facility being constructed in north Phoenix.

Amkor plans to build a 500,000-square-foot manufacturing facility on 55 acres in close proximity to the TSMC plant.
