Major James (Jim) Michael Kuchler, United States Air Force retired, 74, of Sun City, AZ, passed away November 23, 2017. He was born January 21, 1943 in Indianapolis, IN to Cuthbert (Bert) and Ava Kuchler.Jim graduated from Cathedral High School and Marian University, and he earned a Doctor of Education from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years.Jim and his wife Laura moved to Sun City from Chelmsford, MA in 1999. He was a member of the Recreation Centers of Sun City (RCSC) board of directors for four years serving as secretary, treasurer, and president and was acting general manager for six months.Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother Richard; he is survived by his wife, Laura Schaefer Kuchler, and sons, Michael and Ryan (Commander, United States Navy retired). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 15800 N. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ 85351 on Monday, December 4th at 10:00 A.M. He will be laid to rest in the Garden of Valor at Sunland Memorial Cemetery.
